History[edit]

Quintessentially was established in 2000 by Aaron Simpson, Paul Drummond and Ben Elliot, the nephew of the Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.[11][12] Simpson met Drummond at Oxford University and later started the company with business partner Elliot as a small, London-based concierge service.[13] Before founding Quintessentially, Elliot had co-founded K-Bar Plc, a group of nightclubs and bars, and Simpson had worked as a film producer.[14]

From 2002 to 2005, Quintessentially expanded from two offices in the United Kingdom to ten around the world.[15] In 2018 the company reports to over 60+ offices in cities such as Dubai, Hong Kong, London, Los Angeles and New York.

The Quintessentially Lifestyle App was introduced in early 2014. The mobile app features recommendations, reviews, and allows members to make requests to their Lifestyle Managers.[19] In November 2016, Quintessentially partnered with Eva Longoria and Victoria Beckham to host the seventh annual Global Gift Gala at the Corinthia Hotel in London.[20] In 2017, it was announced that the company was building a 'super yacht' for its members.[21][22]

PokerStars the biggest online poker website in the world recently sponsored a charity poker event in the UK. The 4th annual Quintessentially Foundation Poker Night was held at the Savoy Hotel in London and had nearly 200 high profile attendees who raised over $300,000 in charity donations. Most of the attendees were professional and celebrity poker players who decided to attend the event and have fun.

They left behind their poker faces, sunglasses and hoodies and were seen embracing a party poker atmosphere that allowed them to have fun and be generous with their donations. The amount raised will be used by the Quintessentially Foundation to raise the standard of education, health and welfare of local communities, families and children from all parts of the world. The Quintessential Foundation supports three organizations namely Place2Be, Right to Play and Greenhouse.

Some of the players who attended the event were PokerStars team members Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier, Fatima Moreira de Melo, Christophe De Meulder, Leo Margets, Jake Cody and Matthias De Meulder. PokerStar team members will wear a Right To Play patch at live events advertising the new partnership that PokerStars has developed with the Quintessentially Foundation.

In a statement, Ben Elliott the chairman of trustees said

Poker brings people together; it’s convivial. Everyone’s competitive, and there are some serious players, but there’s a really warm atmosphere. We aim to create really magnificent events, like this one with PokerStars, and bring people together in a fun way to build the best poker charity tournament in the UK.

PokerStars will continue to promote the Quintessentially Foundation by sending its team members to a number of charity programs so they can witness the word that the foundation does and also help raise awareness of the foundation and its outreach. PokerStars is confident that in the next few months, it will raise even more money through its initiatives that will enable the foundation to afford another 1,000 volunteers who can go out and help more needy people.

Representatives of the foundation were thrilled with the new partnership with PokerStars and the success of the recently charity poker night event. The money will be used to find talented coaching and then train them to go out and teach children to play games, improve their health and raise their standard of living.

PokerStars has raised over $6 million in charitable donations during 2014 and will continue to raise more money in December through its players and sponsorship events.
